Apertura works with creative practices to connect with how we think, who we are, and who we are becoming.

Hello

I'm Shawna Tavsky — an artist and educator. I'm also late-diagnosed AuDHD (Autism & ADHD). My own relationship to attention, pacing, and sensory experience is what shaped Apertura: a space to explore, through photography and creative practice, what it means to sense and interact with the world around us.

I spent years as a photographer, creative freelancer, and as an arts education center in Mexico City. I've trained and worked clinically in Art Psychotherapy, taught at the Canadian International Institute for Art Therapy, and completed an MSc in Body Psychology and Body Psychotherapy from the University of East London.

Apertura is where I've chosen to bring the skills and insights I've developed over the years — not as therapy, but as shared creative inquiry: courses, workshops, and creative practice built for exploration and education.
